Before Your Experience
Do I have to pay a deposit?
We ask for a 100% refundable deposit at the time of booking in order to guarantee your appointment date and time with us. This is taken as a commitment from you that you intend to keep your appointments, so we can book your professional team especially for you.
Deposits to secure a photoshoot are £50 peak times, and £35 off peak times.
When do I get my deposit back?
All deposits are held on your account until the end of your viewing session, at which point it can be either refunded back on to the card it was paid on or used towards an order/finance deposit. (As long as you provide us with enough notice, should you need to reschedule any appointments).
How do I reschedule my appointment?
To make your experience as special as possible, we book time exclusively for you with our busy, professional team well in advance of your experience date. Should you need to make changes to your appointments we kindly ask for at least 14 days notice. Any changes within 14 days or appointments not attended may require a new deposit to be placed on your appointment. Should you place a second deposit, your first deposit will then be available as credit to use towards your order.
I've never done anything like this before does that matter?
Don’t worry most ladies who come through our doors have never had a photoshoot before! We don’t expect you to be ready for America’s Next Top Model. Our photographers are posing experts and will talk you through, step-by-step every pose and style you into the most flattering positions to show off your favourite features in their best light! We just ask you to be ready to giggle!
Is it an "all-female team"? Who is Andrew Wood?
Andrew is the business founder, but your photoshoot is strictly with an all-female team. We take pride on keeping you comfortable and confident during your time here.
Will the photographer help me with posing?
Our professional photographers will show you exactly how to pose, strut your stuff and look incredible in the pictures.
I'm very nervous, is there anything to help me relax?
That’s 100% normal to feel nerves. We have speakers in every studio so you can pick your own music and get into the zone!
Are drinks provided?
We offer a delightful selection of beverages for you to enjoy at the studio! Choose from a variety of soft drinks, hot beverages, non-alcoholic cocktails, or indulge in an alcoholic drink if you prefer. However, we kindly request that you do not arrive under the influence of alcohol or bring any alcohol with you. If we determine that you are too intoxicated to continue, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Your Photoshoot
Will you do my hair and makeup?
Yes, of course! We will have you looking ‘red carpet ready’ before your photoshoot with full dry-hair styling and professional makeup! That’s why we ask for you to attend your shoot with no (or minimal) makeup on – so that our talented makeup artists have a beautiful blank canvas to start working on.
Will I get to have a say in my makeup?
For sure! We tailor your shoot to your style with that AWP signature flair. Your makeup artist will have a chat with you before your shoot to see what will work for you and what you’re comfortable with. One thing to remember, our artists may apply a little extra makeup to what you’re used to, this is to get the perfect result on the photographs!
How long will my photoshoot take?
Our photoshoot experiences all last around two and a half to three hours. The first hour or so is spent with your makeup artist being pampered and preened to perfection and then you’ll have your ‘feature length’ photoshoot for around one hour and fifteen minutes. You’ll love it!
Do I need to bring my own outfits?
Yes please! We do not provide underwear for hygiene reasons. You will need 3 to 4 matching outfit changes for your shoot. The best tip we can give is wear what makes you feel confident and amazing! For the Burlesque experiences we will compliment your outfits with our huge range of steel-boned and figure-enhancing corsets for that ultimate glam feeling and figure! A good pair of heels is a must – they not only look FAB in your shoot, they also really help improve posture to ensure you look fierce as anything!
Can I bring some of my own props?
Yes, absolutely, in fact we encourage it! We always say – it’s your shoot so it should be your style! Your shoot will be made that little bit extra special if you bring something to personalise it. We love it when people get creative and put a personal spin on their shoots! So, whether it’s your partner’s favourite shirt, a guitar, or your motorbike helmet and leathers please bring it along on the day. Think you could surprise us!? Think again!
Can I bring a friend with me?
Of course, we understand that it can seem like a daunting prospect, if some moral support will help you you’re more than welcome to bring a guest to be with you during your makeup and hair styling. Please be advised that we don’t allow people into the studio with you unless they are taking part in the shoot to allow you to get the best possible photoshoot. If you do bring a friend we have a lovely reception area with magazines, refreshments and very chatty staff to keep them company whilst you are in your shoot.
Can my partner join in?
Of course, partners can join in for some couple shots. We ask partners to wait out until your photographer is ready for that part of the shoot. Then we will grab them and you can team up for some gorgeous couple shots!
How many pictures are taken?
Of course no two shoots are the same so it does vary, but, on average we shoot in the region of 35-40 different images to choose from when you come back to make your selections in your viewing session.
I wear glasses, am I OK to wear them and will I be able to pop them off for some of the pictures?
Yes, of course – whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Do you have phone chargers?
Yes, we have phone chargers for all the major brands ready in case your phone (or your guest’s) needs charging.
I'm not so keen on a red lip can I have a different colour?
Definitely, we can tweak or change anything you like about the makeup look to suit your preferences. Our main aim is that you feel confident and comfortable in the shoot, so on your customer care call don’t hesitate in letting us know of any likes or dislikes you may have.
I've never worn lashes before, are the lashes the makeup artist uses semi-permanent or can they be removed after the shoot?
The reason we add lashes to the makeup look is to emphasise the definition in the eye and create a dramatic look for the camera. The lashes we use are not ‘semi-permanent’ or ‘individual lashes’ that you would have done in a salon. They are instead one day use, ‘strip’ lashes. So they can be removed easily with makeup remover after the shoot with no issues or damage to your natural lashes.
Does the hair stylist cut my hair?
No, we definitely don’t cut your hair. However, we do style it to make it look extra glamorous for the photoshoot.
Your Viewing
Do I have to book an appointment to view my photographs?
Yes! All experiences come with one complimentary, private cinema-screening. In the event that you are not able to make the appointment, you will have to pay for another appointment. It’s always best to get here ten minutes before your appointment so we can organise a drink and some popcorn – it is a cinema-screening after all.
Bring your diary with you when you come for the shoot, and have some dates in mind when you can definitely come back to see the incredible results! Please bring along a loved one or friend – often they help with choosing your perfect photos.
Will you airbrush my ‘lumps and bumps’?
Don’t worry, our retouchers are experts at adding a little finishing touch to all our ladies images. You’ll be asked to tell us how much (or little) retouching you’d like and about any special requests, perhaps about tattoos, scars or blemishes, on a quick questionnaire after your shoot.
When can I view my photographs?
We have an amazing retouching team who will add a little magic to your images, so we ask for up to 7 days to get them prepared. If you would like to see them sooner, please let us know and we will try to accommodate any special requests.
How does the finance option work?
We have a fantastic finance option that allows you to get that dream package without the one large payment. Should you wish to take advantage of this, please bring along your debit/credit card. It’s also best to bring along an additional form of identification and 25% deposit.
Our payment plans are flexible, interest-free and come with no “early repayment fee” too, so if you want to pay it a little quicker you can!
Don’t worry you don’t have to wait 12 months for your order; once we have processed your finance we will put your order into production straight away just like if you had paid in full!
Bring along a valid form of ID (such as alternative credit card or driving license) if you think you may want to take advantage of the finance options as the credit provider may require this.
Do I have to buy anything?
We get asked this a lot – there is absolutely no obligation to purchase more images from your shoot.
We are very open with our customers at Andrew Wood Photography and ensure that we never ‘hard sell’ and simply produce stunning images that sell themselves!
Most Andrew Wood Photography customers invest between £600 and £1,395 on our beautiful photographs but, we do have something to suit all budgets.
What method of payments do you accept?
In addition to the finance option, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo and cash. We don’t accept cheques or American Express.
How long do viewings take?
Viewings last approximately one hour. This usually allows for plenty of time to show you your bespoke movie, choose any photographs you wish to purchase, and set up any payment options as required.
Who owns the copyrights to the images?
Should you purchase any digital images, you will have the right to reproduce and distribute them as you wish.
Andrew Wood Photography does retain the copyright to all images taken, however we always ask permission to use any images for promotional purposes, we’ll never use any of your photographs for marketing or advertising without your permission.
I have tattoos I don't like, can these be edited out of the pictures?
Yes, they certainly can! We can usually edit the pictures so that you won’t even be able to tell there was a tattoo there to start with. Should you request that your tattoo is edited out, we will assess the difficulty and if possible we will retouch it out of every image for you. If it is a particularly tough one to amend then we will prepare some examples for you and then we can complete the rest on any that you purchase after your viewing.
What do people do with their photos?
There is literally no end to what you can do with your photographs! Some of the ideas that we have seen in the past include printing them out and sending them to a loved one, plugging your USB stick into a large TV to display them digitally, creating your own personal photo album or just kept privately on your USB stick – ready for viewing whenever you need a pick me up or to remind yourself just how incredible you are! Some ladies have even used their pics on dating apps or social media – we take that as “Mission accomplished!” if they are confident enough to put their stunning photographs out there for all to see.
